Presentation “Women’s Initiatives in Croatia”

Presentation will include a short view of the initiatives held for and by woman in Croatia:
Cunterview.net, women made news portal with online database of women artists in Croatia. Portal aims to a) raise visibility of women artists, b) participate with dynamic and diverse voice in the media map, c) ease networking with like-minded individuals or groups and d) bridge ICT gender gap through education based on skill exchange; technical, artistic and multimedia workshops.
Voxfeminae.net, international transdisciplinary festival with a focus on connecting and building women’s network, initiative, groups, activists and artists in country and abroad. Voxfeminae fest is created through presentations, workshops, actions, performances etc.; it supports networking of local and foreign artists and groups who’s work communicate through new media and explore the gap of contemporary and applied art, urban culture, counterculture and alternative culture. The way that Voxfeminae fest researches culture is activism in the field of sex and gender as well as reviewing the culture of mass production.
Burabend.net, Bura Bend is an artistic initiative of a female queer soccer team Bura, established in 2006 during the halftime of a soccer game. The bend gathers women from different fields of artistic endeavor, such as film, fine arts, fashion, and literature, which results in musical performances followed by visual material such as Bura comics, stickers, pins, and posters.
